Grief counseling is available through the Saginaw County Department of Public Health. The nurse makes home visits to families who have lost an infant to a sudden unexpected death. The nurse provides support, information, and comfort to the family and is able to discuss the following: - Grieving
- Sudden Unexpected Infant Death/SIDS
- Grieving for the brothers, sisters, and other family members
- State Autopsy Program
- Where to find help and Support Groups
How many visits will be made? The nurse can come to your home up to six times, depending on the needs of your family. What is the cost? This service is free. How do I get referred? The nurse receives notice of your baby's death and then calls to offer services. Families can also call (989) 758-3842 to ask for help. |
